School is really ratcheting up, with finals starting now less than a month from the present - cue freaking out. It's possible I should have done more work this weekend, but we'll find out today and these next couple days. I do think balance is important though...
Oh! I ran my second 5K this weekend. The honest truth is that I did not train as much as I'd hoped, so I was pretty nervous, and part of me wanted to chicken out. I had a T-shirt to wear for Laura though (see some previous posts), and I couldn't waste the chance to wear it. Hubby ran alongside me the whole way, and I ended up jogging the whole thing. I was slower than my first 5K, but I was proud that I did it and proud that I didn't walk. Plus there's the whole saying about beating the people who are home in bed. :-) It was also really fun to do the run with hubby, since he couldn't do the other one in May.
After the run, wearing my shirt for Laura. The back has her info and links to americanredcross.org and bethematch.org - two things to honor her memory, donating blood and signing up to be a bone marrow donor - both save lives! And please excuse the post-race, no-makeup look...
Also, a quick recipe recommendation! I made Creamy Stovetop Mac and Cheese from Annie's Eats last night and really liked it! It's been hard for me to find good mac and cheese recipes, but the combination of how easy and tasty this recipe was makes it a keeper for me - so check it out if you feel so inclined.
That's about all - it was a relatively busy but good weekend! Posting may get a little sparse over the next month or so, since my priorities will be even more heavily centered on school. I'll emerge from the exam hibernation in mid-December, and may well be taking some study breaks to blog in the meantime!
